Denied PERM, how long does an appeal take to get approved?

Hello, everyone:
My PERM was denied in June after 8 months waiting in Atlanta. An appeal was filed in July. Ever since I have not heard anything.
I wonder how long it takes DOL to process an appealed case?
What should I do to expedite the process? I mean should I contact Senators, Congressman?

The company lawyer said just wait. She does not know how long it takes.
and she does not agree to contact anyone about the case.
but I do not trust her.

Please help if you know or hear anything about appealed cases
