EAD,AP AND I-485

Any one can shed some light
I have been hearing that if you are getting EAD approved and right after that Ap approved then your chances of getting GC approved sooner is remote because they are dumping your case in the back burner for long time. And there excuse is waiting for visa number. So is there anyone that has different experience than what i mentioned?
