I personally do not think vacation is a good idea,

because they they have to pay you for these 14 days.

If they pay you one more month's salary, they will pay you on the last day, not one month after you would be laid off, so you will get the money anyway.

Your status is fine right now. You are I485 pending. Enjoy a couple of month and then get a new job wiht EAD. Sounds not bad, take it easy
