Try to be nice to finish up the project to get a good reference letter. You can find the other job. Most likely the new boss will ask the reference letter from your old boss. So be nice to him to get a good letter. Go to science jobwebsite to find a place needs postdoc.You will get it. If you find a job in the same field , no effect for your GC application.Good luck!
