即在8月15日到10月1日，等待H1-B 名額時，能持續工作嗎？ No.
But for you, you can stay in the US to wait for Oct 1. because you do have a grace period last till Oct 1.
But for those whose OPT expires before end of July, they CANNOT wait in US after grace period ends even H1 is pending or approved. It will be illegal stay because 2005 H1 visa number was not available when they filed and when their current status expires.
