You can try. I had same situation as you untill yesterday when I found that my checks were cashed on Sept.19. Ours were filed on 7/17. I called them last friday and I was very lucky to get a nice lady she tranferred my call to the second level. I told her my application was filed on July 17, but nothing yet. Very politely and very sincerely. Try it and good luck if you want to call.
