FBI clearance from the fingerprints are good for 15 months.

The "IBIS" checks are good for 35 days.

The "IP" agency checks, once accomplished, don't expire.

FBI is pretty good. IBIS is done "in house" so to
sppeak. There have been problems in getting the IP checks which is about as much as CIS will tell us legal types in liaison since they are required to be closed-mouth about such things. [BTW, the old INS used to refer to "CIA checks" and then they changed their tune to "third agency checks" and were no longer allowed to ever acknowledge that such an agency might even exists].
