綠卡持有者可否延長呆在中國的半年限期？

我已給父母申請了綠卡，父母的一個大問題是每次回過隻能呆半年，時間短不說，來回的費用也高。各位已給父母辦了綠卡的，可有什麽高招能讓父母回去多呆一些時間又不影響他們的綠卡持有資格的？ 請與我和網上有相同需要者分享。

另外，is there anyway that this law can be changed (like have a petition by big number of people)?
