H1B renew, Help!!!

My H1B visa will expire on Oct. 30, 2004. I will file a extension request next month.

My salary is 30% less than that in the LCA due to bad economy and slow business. So have anyone experienced this? and whether INS will check my W-2 or tax return record.

I appreciate your input and thanks in advance.
