to FaJuShi: Green Card

Hi FaJuShi,

My hu*****and is a green card holder over 5 years. We are planning to apply for a green card for me. Some options suggested by lawyers are:

1) I apply by myself;
2) I apply after my hu*****and receives his US citizenship, which is supposed to be faster?
3) I apply at the same time as my hu*****and applies for citizenship. (the lawyer said that I would be able to get into the system first in this way. And, once he becomes a US citizen, I can update my information. Is this true? My understanding is that the system for spouses of permanent resident is different from that for citizens. How do I update? For example, my application is submitted on June 01, 2004. At the end of this year, my hu*****and becomes a citizen. When I update the information, will my application date in the new system still be June 01, 2004, or Dec 31, 2004?
