Advice Pls! Is this risky?

H1-b Status. 140/485 filed July (EB2, 01-07 PD). Need to go back to China. AP not appliced. Want to apply H1 visa in Guangzhou. Is there any chance being denied or get background check?
By the way, I have never gone back to China since came here under F1 8 yrs ago. I am accounting major.
