H1B延期問題: H1B已經四年半了， 想知道6年期滿能否再延長！

因為各種原因，一直沒有動手申請綠卡，直到最近有人說6年期滿後，我得身份可能會有麻煩。有人說如果遞交了140得情況下， H1B可以延長三年，如果根本沒動手做任何關於綠卡申請的事情，我就必須離開美國，身份不能延長和轉換。 請問是這樣的嗎？ 如果是，當務之急，我應該做什麽？
