They are two separate dates.

Most of the "Notice of Action" form sent by USCIS have two dates printed -- the Date of Receipt and the Date of Notice.

If USCIS waited a long time to open your application after they received it, the notice date will be dated much later than the receipt date. In your case, one in July and the other in August.
