help !!! AP back to US

I-485 was filed two years ago. Got the renewed advance parole two month ago and came back to China last month. Planning to go back to the States next month.

Just found my passport expires the end of July. So I went to have it extended in Beijing. But unfortunately they said the current policy was only to change to a totally new passport (with a new number). They are not doing any renewal any more.

My concerns are:
1. if I choose to go back to the States and have it renewed at a Chinese consulate, I'm afraid that I would not be allowed to enter since the passport will be valid less the half year.

2. if I change to a new one in Beijing, since my green card application was all based on the old one, this new one must bring up a lot of troubles and hassels.

Does anyone have the similar problem ever? Or any ideas or suggestions? I'll be really appreciative of your kind help !!!
