J-2轉F1--供參考!

Q107 A year ago, I followed my hu*****and to the U.S with my visa status being J2. Now I want to study in America. If I get I-20 from a university, can I transfer my status from J2 to F1? If not,when can I transfer my status? H1B?
A107 The answer depends whether your hu*****and is subject to the home residency requirement (HRR). If he is subject to the HRR, you can NOT convert to F-1 from within USA. You can go to your home country (preferably) or a third country (a little less preferable) and apply for an F-1 visa.
If he is not subject o HRR, you can apply for the conversion (adjustment of status) from within USA.
