Help needed! H-1 b transfer question.

I am a postdoc in a non-profit lab with a H-1b visa. My future employer (industry) filed H-1b for me in April. The new H-1b got approved with a starting date of 10/1/2007. Is there any possibility that I may start earlier there since my son and hu*****and are already there? Thank you very much for your help.
