I am not sure how to answer her question. But I know you can get H1 visa stamp outside US after you filed 485. That's why my attorney(compnay hired) suggested my company not file AP for me (to save money) since I don't need AP to travel abroad. He told the HR people that I could get H1 stamp easily from a US embassy/consulate.
