any one has experience with I-140 amendment?

I have received my LC in the august of last year. The lawyer has filed I-140 under EB2. Now I find out that my position is not qualified for EB2. I am going to change my pending I-140 to Eb3. Is it possible to file an I-140 amendment for this purpose? what procedure should I follow? Will an I-140 amendment affect my pending I-485 applicatioin?
The lawyer has not given me any reply in one day, I need your suggestion, please help!
