H1 extension after submitting 485

Hi, My H1B will be expired in Dec.(after 6 years) and I want to renew it based on approved 140. I have submitted 485 last month. A friend told that if 485 have been submitted, I can't renew my H1b and I have to apply EAD. Because she did the same thing about 2 years ago and the H1 extension was rejected because of the submitted 485. Any suggestions? If I apply EAD, do I have to submitte it ot Nebraska since my 485 is in Nebraska? Same address? Thanks a lot for your time!
