That's because they can't manage well with Chinese, as most of us do with English. A friend of mine learned Chinese for several months before he went to China. Once he asked rice with soup, in Chinese, in a restaurant in southern China. Guess what he got?----Rice with sugar. He asked why he did see his soup and was told that the sugar was already melt in the rice---disappeared. ^o^
