Help! Can I be AOS status between H1B transfer?

Hi expert,
I have filed 485 and received a receipt. Meanwhile, I am doing H1B transfer, can I terminate my current employment before my new employer get H1B transfer receipt? The new employer insist me to start after tehy gget the H1B receipt.
