Xiao Bai Tu and other kindness friends, urgent situation,Please

My H1b 6 year will expired by the end of next year and I should be able to file the NIW 140 by the end of July. The thing I am concerning is my case is not strong (although my field is very attractive for NIW),should I file 485 now or wait until my 140 got approved? What is the chance NIW 140 be rejected? Do you think it is worthy to gamble?

My wife holds H4.If I do not apply EAD for her and AP for us, is there any difference between file 485 now or wait for 140 approved other than the application fee?

On the other hand, think about the worst side, since the 140 pending time is ridiculous long, if my 140 was rejected, probably I do not have enough time to response, what can I do if I want to stay in USA? Any kindness friend can give me some advice? If I do not file 485, is it possible she transfer to F1 and I could be F2 or any legal status?

Really appreciate any kindly suggestion.
