Trouble, help please

I am in trouble need you helps. I booked ticket to go to Shanghai 5/1 and return 5/14, I already appointed interview date on 5/13 for return H-1B visa. Suddenly someone told me that now Shanghai (as well as other area) will not return the visa/passport right after the interview. They will be mailed to you by EMS. My god, if that is true I have to miss the airplane on the second day after interview.

IS THAT TRUE? DO THEY ALSO ALLOW YOU GO PICK UP THE NEXT DAY OR 2 DAYS LATER? I CAN'T RELY ON EMS.
