depend on which service center you will send to,
i send to the vermont center since the beginning of FEB this year, the receipt said it took 30-60 days, but you can check the process date now just Oct 31 2003, so there are still three months to go, and by the way, if you use the AP go home you will be back with EAD, not H1B any more there will be risk, i am facing the same problem, i decide to renew the H1B and after 1-140 approved, then can leave
