N-400 form is not very thorough on which document is needed. Read the document checklist part in "a guide to naturalization" very carefully although the photo requirement is outdated inside.
If you get green card thru EB1/2/3, no previous tax info is required. I only ted the N-400, greencard copy, 2 passport photos, and a check for my case. And nobody bothered to ask me to show the tax form during the whole process. For the people who got green card through marriage, tax form is definitely required.
