As a H-1 B, you have to only get w-2 as employee, not 1099 as independent contractor. You have to get another H-1 B if you want to work for another company.

H-1 B can open a company but cannot work for it, what is allowed to receive from the company is only distribution as owner. But there must be some people to work in the company to make profit. I think it is still grey area, you should be careful in such difficult time to apply for Green card. thanks.
