1) It is likely that your pkg will be cancelled since you cancel your check. this means that you have not paid the fee.
2) You should directly go to the post office to cancel the pkg. I never know that some post offices open on Sunday. Where did you send your package? I know that some FedEx offices open 24hours a day 7 days a week.
All the mails received on Sunday will not be sent out on Sunday but on next Monday.
