After I-485, what is the status?

Hi Friend,

My wife and I are H1B. We will send our I-485, EAD, AP application tomorrow. I am a primary applicant.
My wife just got notice she will be layoff middle of July. We have some questions as follows;

(1) What is My wife status after I-485 and be layoff?
I-485 pending?

(2) Does she need to change to H4 after layoff?

(3) Is it ok my wife don't change to H4 and using I-485 pending status
stay in US?
