They demanded to see our high school records. We complied.
They demanded to see our college records. We complied.
They demanded to see our employment history. We complied.
They demanded personal information on our families. We complied.
They demanded our fingerprints, and eye scans. We gave it to them.
They probed our health records. We let them.
They peered deep into our bodies with X-ray machines, looking for TB bacteria. We absorbed the deadly radiation without a word.
They poked and probed us mentally and physically, as thoroughly as any person could possibly be probed. And they couldn't come up with any reason to reject us.
cited from emailraja:
And then they turn us away anyway. For the flimsiest of reasons.
RFE: Because you had the audacity to leave your generous employer who sponsored you for a green card. We'll punish you like the runaway slave that you are.
RFE: Because you couldn't estimate our processing times, you had a 1 month gap between EADs, and became illegal. Prove that you didn't work llegally.
NOID: Because you didn't give us your fingerprints a second time (so what if we didn't ask you again. you should have begged us to take it)
NOID: Because you didn't change your address on time.
NOID: We are incompetent and didn't update your address or your attorney. So the RFE went to the wrong place and you didn't have a chance to respond. It's your fault. We're going to kick you out.
There are people celebrating today because their long journey is over. It makes the mind forget all the agony and the anguish. Their journey should have been over a long time ago. For those who are still going through the anguish, where is the justice?
Does your blood boil at the injustice of it all?
