if you think frequent call will do harm to your case, don't do that. if you think call uscis is not useful, don't do it either. if you want to confirm you case status, call repeatedly will definitely enhance the chance to get a nice IO to give your more valuable information on your case. I called consecutively for three days and never was asked whether I called last time. instead, I got almost the same information on my case. and this is very helpful to me.
