Hi,I was in a similar situation before. There is no such thing as being ready. the truth is you will never feel ready. So just do it and don't hesitate. When you get RFE , just link all your fields, but put more weight on the field you will be working on. It sounds that you will be in the similar field anyway. For example, if both areas need your skill on molecular biology or biochemistry, you just stress how crucial your expertise is. Try to find common grounds. Take it easy. Try to apply now.Just my two cents. good luck.
