Senate immigration bill lost cloture vote by wide margin

The senate comprehensive immigration reform bill lost a cloture vote by 33-63, 27 short of required 60 votes. There will be another procedural vote later today to test if the bill should go forward. Senate majority leader Harry Reid had said if the bill failed cloture, he would shelf it altogether.
