It is true we have advanced degree and we can understand immigration law through ourselves and other resorces including this frum. But every one has different story. If the case is complicated and we make mistakes on some steps, it will cause huge effort and time to repair.

In some of the legal fields, attorney is a must.Immigration is not in those catogoroes but also doesn't mean you do not need professional service.

I am not the attorney but did internship in the court with the government attorney. My experience is, legal case is complicated and some need much creativity. I respect the good attorney, they are smart people.

Of course, attorney also varies. A good attorney will leave you good experience. My attorney for this immigration process is good, just charge expansively. Next time, I may prefer a service with fair charge.
