File I-485, please help

I didn't file my I-485 with my wife when she filed her I-140 and I-485 together in 2005. Now the priority date is current, I am planning to file mine, but I have a few questions:
1. She used her AP last year, and now a parolee, is this a problem? Should I wait until she got her H1 extension approved?
2. Should I pay an attorney to file the I-485 for me?
3. Can I still file I-485 after her I-485 approved? by the way, hers is pending now.
