I went to Infopass this morning (7:15am appointment, painfully sleepy now), and asked an officer about my 485 petition status. He typed our case receipt number, and told us that our cases are still pending for name checking. Then he tried to end the conversation (he even didn't print out the result as what other people said in this forum). We then asked him how long is it gonna take to finish, and he replied "6 months at max from today". Then we just came out of CIS.
However, we are still not clear what he said about "6 months at max from today". Does anybody have similar experiences? Does it mean that name checking will be finished in 6 months or we'll get response in 6 months? Anyway, I don't know if it makes any difference to go to infopass especially for people who have full time job,and can only make it at appointments as early as 7am.
BTW, my case is at NSC, and the infopass office I went is at San Jose CA. And I also called the 800 customer service number posted on USCIS website, and could not get anybody talk to me, so I ended up going to Inforpass. Anybody can tell me how to talk with a representative by the 800 nubmer?
Thanks for drop by my post.
