I moved to a new place a year ago but I did not notify the INS since people told me that it was troublesome. Recently, I noticed that I lost a couple of documents from INS. My lawyer told me that it was because the post office knows I changed the address. The lawyer suggested me notify INS the address right away. My question is:
1. Is it true that the losses of mails from INS is because I did not notify the INS and the post office knows that?
2. If I notify the INS now, is it going to cause any trouble?
Many thanks.
