when you enter Canada, you will not pass through America Customs. In fact, there's no America Customs at all to check you when you go to CAnada from America. When you get back, no Canada customs check you.

bring all the documents you have about your status transfer you made in America, including your family members, in case the america officers check you when you get back. make sure you can get back.
