From your post, It seems that you got a IGA waiver when you have a O1 visa. Could you please help me with some questions on IGA waiver?

Just like you, I experienced a hard time to get waiver from my university. It is a nightmare. I still not get it now.
Our family transered to O1. I want to apply IGA waiver, but a lawyer told me that this waiver is only for those whose J1 time is not enough for them to get a no objection letter. Is that correct? When you applied your IGA waiver, you still stay in you J1 status or O1?

For IGA waiver, as long as my hu*****and's boss and the hospital sign for him and send the application ot DHHS with the proof or documents and the file number, that is it? We don't have to contact with DHHS first and waiting for their response, right? I am very confused with this, please help me?
