Sure you can, but.....

your case is a little complicated. First you have to file 485(AP/EAD) within US. Then be prepared for finger print, RFE etc. And if you stay too long outside US, the immigration officer might question your intention.

So talk to an experienced attorney, see what's their oppinion.
