EB1-A can not renew H1B after ting 140

Hello, someone said if you applied EB1A, or something else without sponsor support, then you can NOT renew your H1B after ting 140. Is that true?

If it is true, before the 485 is approved, the applicant has to use EAD card, right? How many years/months is the EAD card valid for? Since the name checking could block the process, what if the EAD expires? Can the applicant (EB1A) renew EAD card?
