How risky? Can I work with EAD? (more details inside)

My hu*****and just filed 140 (EB1a), so now I got EAD. I am holding H1 (academic), want to work in a company using EAD. But if his 140 will not be approved, what happened to me and my status? Can I use EAD until it's expired? Can I applied for EAD again if my priority date become current? (Note: My 140 (NIW) has been approved, but waiting for file 485.......)
