NIW-140 pending, file EB1 using premium process OK?

My NIW 140 is still pending(5 months), can I file EB1 using premium process(PP)? I checked USCIS, it says if you have a 140 pending, you can not use PP for filing another 140? But my understanding is it's not in the same category, so I can use PP for my EB1. Anyone has this experience?
