I got same problem last year. I tried to go to the local office to apply for a temporary one. The office told me that they no longer did temporary EAD and I could continue work with the receipt. And then I show my renew EAD receipt to our HR. And faxed the acceleration application to the service center. (you can find the fax number from USCIS.gov). They sent me my re-new EAD within two weeks. Actually They already sent out one EAD to but delayed by mail. Finally I got two same EADs. So don't worry! fax to them.
