As long as you and your wife's DS2019 are valid, it is not a problem to come back if your travel in Canada is less than 30 days. you don't need a visa, just your DS2019 and passport. However, I don't know if they will issue you a new I-94 cards at the border office. Last year, I traveled to Canada two times, first time we did not give a new I-94 but second time they did. Did your human resources person said you just simply need a new I-94? what type of new documents qualify your wife for the insurance?
