same thing happen to me :(

I sent out my I-751 to USCIS CA Service Center using USPS Express with return receipt. The USPS tracking site:

Status: Notice Left

We attempted to deliver your item at 11:10 AM on April 3, 2007 in LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA 92607 and a notice was left. A second delivery attempt will be made. If unsuccessful, we will hold it for five business days and then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

I thought 11:10am is during office hour! :( I am crossing my finger that the second attempt, there will be someone there to sign it. Anyway, did you also ask for the "return receipt" service? I was thinking the "return receipt" maybe the issue. I am not sure if anyone need to sign for accept an Express mail without return receipt request.
