Can I enter USA with B1/B2 visa when my H1-B petition is approve

My H1-B petition is approved and I will go to apply H1-B visa at the end of April. However, I was invited go USA to give a talk at a conference in the middle of April. May I enter USA with B1/B2 visa at this situatoin? I just heard I could not enter USA at my current situation. Please give me some info ig you know. Thanks a lot.
