Biometrics rescheduling

This is the third time we received notice to acpture biometrics for I485. The appointment is on Apr 10th. Unfortunately we have already booked air tickets (apr 6th) back to China for a trip. We will be back on Apr 24th. I am wondering if I send the notice to the local office for rescheduling, does anyone know how the reschedling works? What if we cannot get back before the new appointment date? Can we ask for a specific date that is after Apr 24th?
I will highly appreciate your help. Is that safer to just change the tickets date (with a big fine from the airline)? Better safe than sorry?
