Xiaobaitu, ple help:I-485 transferability issue?

Please help: My I-140 was approved based on EB1b, I-485 was filed at the end of last August. Currently I am a research scientist position at a university. I am planning to move to another university for a tenure-track position this August (almost a year at that time after I-485 filing). The current university immigration official told me that my current position is research-type, and the new position is a teaching/research type, it is not the same. So, the I-140 may not be transferable. Xiaobaitu and other DA-XIA, please advise. Though I hope I-485 gets approval before this August. Otherwise, is it transferable? Thanks!
