As long as you can keep your first job to make your I485 status valid. You are free to do whatever you want with your EAD.

You can use H1B or EAD to work for your I485-sponsor and use EAD to work for Burger King.

Your waiting for H1B renewal has no problem as long as your sponsor is going to hire you to keep your I485 valid.
