No need 高人指點, to correct this, at your next interview, show the VO the old F-2 visa stamp you got in China in your passport, that is it. That's the undeniable proof.

Whether the new F2 interview will succeed is another matter. VO can still deny your F2 visa based on immigration intent even after that.
